When the Air Jordan 6 Retro UNC was designed it was evident that Jordan Brand drew inspiration from Jordan’s alma mater, the University of North Carolina. A Carolina Blue nubuck upper is perforated with white leather overlays dominating the upper of the sneaker. The tongue is black neoprene and features a Carolina Blue neoprene lace shroud and Navy Blue lace lock. The lace shroud features an embroidered Navy Blue Jumpman logo. The top of the tongue features its usual two square holes used as a pull-tab this time with an icy translucent overlay showing the zig zag geometric pattern on the inside lining of the tongue matching the zig zag geometric pattern on the insole. The rear of the sneaker has its usual rear spoiler pull tab and underneath is a woven Jumpman jock tag. The foam midsole features parts of the icy translucent outsole covering the visible air unit found in the heel. The outsole is a combination of white and icy translucent rubber.
